Dragons DOR believes Dragons PS showed good metal

Newport Gwent Dragons Director of Rugby Lyn Jones believes that the Premiership Select squad did themselves proud during their match on Sunday against Jersey RFC.

The Premiership Select squad have won two from two matches in the British and Irish Cup so far after scoring a last minute try from replacement Arwel Robson thanks to break from centre Barney Nightingale. The Dragons PS took away a win of 31-27, at the home of Cross Keys Pandy Park.

Dragons Director of Rugby Lyn Jones, watched the match from the stand at Pandy Park and commented after the match: “The performance was very good especially with so many young players playing.

“It’s a standard of rugby which is one up from the Premiership standard and there are a lot of young boys with ambition which all want to do well, and today was a really good test - they showed good metal by coming back in the dying seconds.

“I felt that lots of the players played well, but it was a collective performance from the Region; Adam Brown and Ashley Sweet including others just to name a few.”

He went on to describe how great it is to be playing the match within the Region: “Pandy Park is a traditional club and there is a lovely atmosphere here and everyone enjoyed themselves. There was a good crowd with good support and with our next game in Ebbw Vale I am sure that it will be same there as well.”

Tickets are currently on sale for the Dragons PS next two home matches in the BIC. First up are Doncaster Knights on 19th December at The Bridgefield in Bedwas and the final home match will be played at Ebbw Vale on 23rd January 2016, against Connacht Eagles.
