Ioan Davies came through the Cardiff Blues academy and made his professional debut for the Blues, making two appearances for the capital-based region.
He first rose to prominence in 2018 when he starred for Wales U18 at Sardis Road in a defeat to arch enemy England. His eye-catching defence and well taken try gained plaudits from both sets of fans.
The full-back was included in the Wales U20 Six Nations squad in 2019 having graduated from Wales U18. A constant counter-attacking threat from deep, he has also played on the wing for Wales U20.
Davies moved to Dragons on loan in February 2021 until the end of the 2020/2021 season, but after impressing during the Guinness PRO14 Rainbow Cup, where he made five appearances, Davies was signed permanently ahead of the 2021/2022 campaign.
