Homegrown back row duo sign deals

11/05/2022

Back row duo Ben Fry and Lennon Greggains have today both signed new contracts and committed to their home region.

The homegrown pair have both successfully come through the Dragons Academy set-up before progressing into the senior squad.

Fry and Greggains have been rewarded for their continued development with new deals as Dragons invest in the very best young talent in our region.

Dean Ryan, Director of Dragons Rugby said: “We’re really pleased that Ben and Lennon have signed and will continue to work and develop with us.

“This is another great example of us investing in our future and striving to develop and retain the very best talent from within our region.”

Abrasive flanker Fry, 23, made his debut for Dragons in the EPCR Challenge Cup against Timisoara Saracens in 2019.

The former Wales Under-20s international has gone on to make 25 appearances to date for the Men of Gwent, scoring two tries.

“I’m excited to re-sign with my home region,” said Fry. “We have a really talented group of boys driving towards a good future and hopefully I can contribute towards that.”

Talented back row Greggains, 23, made his senior debut in the league fixture with Ulster in 2017.

Greggains – also a former Wales Under-20s international – has made eight senior appearances for Dragons, with injuries restricting his opportunities in recent seasons.

“It’s been a tough few seasons for me with injuries so I’m really grateful for the coaching team and Dragons putting their faith in me,” said Greggains.

“I’m determined to repay that and I’m looking forward to what we can achieve as a squad in the coming years.”
