Dragons to face Bristol Bears in pre-season

Dragons will tackle the might of English Premiership giants Bristol Bears in pre-season after official confirmation of the fixture ahead of the 2022/23 season.

The Men of Gwent will welcome our close neighbours from over the bridge to Rodney Parade on Friday, August 26 (kick-off 7pm) for our opening friendly fixture.

Season Members are advised this pre-season fixture is included as part of your new package. We look forward to welcoming you #BackOnParade this opening fixture.

Full ticketing information for the opening pre-season fixture will be announced in due course. Keep checking www.dragonsrugby.wales and our social channels for the very latest.

Dragons last faced Bristol in the last eight of the European Challenge Cup in September 2020, in a game that was played behind closed doors at Ashton Gate Stadium.

The last time the two teams met at Rodney Parade was back in January 2007 when Dragons won 17-11 in the Challenge Cup.

The game could provide fans with the first opportunity to see the likes of JJ Hanrahan, Sio Tomkinson, Rob Evans, Rhodri Jones, Max Clark, Sean Lonsdale, George Nott, Bradley Roberts and the returning Angus O’Brien in action.

Details of a further home pre-season fixture are being finalised and will be communicated to supporters as soon as possible.
