Homegrown talent sign with Dragons

04/06/2021

The brightest young talent in Gwent have today committed their futures to the Dragons.

Fly half Evan Lloyd, 21, has been rewarded for an impressive breakthrough season by signing his first senior contract.

Lloyd made his debut for the Men of Gwent in the Heineken Champions Cup away clash at Bordeaux-Begles in December and his Guinness PRO14 debut in March against Edinburgh Rugby.

Dragons have also added four exciting young home-grown talents to their Academy for the coming season.

Centre Oli Andrew, scrum half Che Hope, full back Joe Westwood and back row Ryan Woodman have all signed Academy contracts after impressing in age grade rugby.

Dean Ryan, Director of Dragons Rugby, said: “Evan has earned his opportunity this season and is a dedicated young player who we are looking forward to working with in the long-term.

“It’s also great news to see four homegrown players sign first Academy contracts. Congratulations to all four who will now look to continue to develop in our environment.”
