Born in Pontypridd Wyatt started his professional career with his local club before earning a regional contract at the beginning of the 2003 season with the Celtic Warriors.

Following the Warriors disbanding, Wyatt earned a contract with the Dragons alongside team-mates Kevin Morgan, Ceri Sweeney, Michael Owen and Gareth Cooper. Dragons signed Wyatt due to his quality and his ability to play in several positions, including wing, full-back and fly-half.

Primarily a winger, he managed 109 appearances and scored 29 tries during his five seasons at Rodney Parade, placing him third on the all- time Dragons top try scorers list. He joins record try scorer Aled Brew as the two wingers for the Dragons Ultimate XV.

Wyatt attained two full Wales caps in his career scoring one try. He also represented Wales at Sevens (Three commonwealth games), Under 19 level, Under 21 level and Wales A.

Wyatt returned to Pontypridd at the end of the 2009/2010 season following a brief stint at Newport RFC. In 2012 he progressed to become a player-coach, assisting Paul John in nurturing the backs at the club.

When Wyatt eventually called time on a glittering playing career at the end of the 2013 - 2014 campaign, he stepped up to a role as assistant backs coach with Pontypridd having made 293 appearances for the club, scoring 112 tries and amassing 680pts.
