Youngsters enjoy February Skills Camp

Not even the wet weather and blustery conditions could dampen the spirits as aspiring young rugby players enjoyed a Skills Camp with the Dragons during the February half-term.

Over 80 youngsters – aged between six and 14-years-old – descended on Rodney Parade for the opening camp of the school break.

Children enjoyed a stadium tour plus ball skills, running, passing, kicking and contact games and competitions.

First team aces Joe Davies and Huw Taylor were then special guests for an afternoon Q&A, where they also signed autographs for the young players.

Our next Skills Camp at Rodney Parade (NP19 0UU) takes place on Wednesday, April 8.

We also have a camp at CCB Centre for Sporting Excellence in Ystrad Mynach (CF82 7EP) on Wednesday, April 15.

All camps cost £35 inc. VAT per person, per day with camps starting at 9am. All camps will end at 4pm.

We are delighted to announce we will also be holding a Girls only Rugby and Netball Camp on Thursday, April 9 at Cwmbran Stadium (NP44 3YS).

Trainers are required for this camp that is open for girls aged between six and 14-years-old.

This camp costs £20 inc. VAT per person and registration is at 8.30am before the camp runs between 9am and 4pm.

Advanced booking is the only way to reserve a camp space and spaces will be open from Monday at www.camps.wru.co.uk
