Dragons Deliver has been spreading some early Easter cheer across our region thanks to a fantastic new partnership with Community partner Wilko.
The Dragons Deliver initiative – in partnership with our Community team - is being run to help those having a difficult time due to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic.
Dragons have already reached out to elderly supporters and those with a disability, drawing information from records held.
The senior squad have also been hitting the phones to make the latest round of calls this week.
From picking up shopping and delivering medicine to general maintenance tasks, Dragons Deliver have been out and about.
Now we’ve teamed up with Wilko who have kindly donated thousands of Easter eggs for us to deliver to key workers, the NHS, vulnerable groups and food banks.
One of the first drop-offs was to the Helping Caring Team – better known as HCT – to share with the homeless and vulnerable.
Eggs were also dropped off to temporary housing in Caerphilly, food banks at Eastern Valley and Chepstow, learning needs groups, hostels in Newport and key workers at Torfaen Borough Council schools.
We’re still making an appeal to Dragons supporters who are in a position to help others to volunteer; whether that be chats on the phone, picking up shopping or some general maintenance tasks.
Those willing to help fellow Dragons should email email@example.com When writing, please include your full name, mobile number and postcode (Client Reference number if known would be great, too).
Dragons staff will then give all would-be volunteers a ring to help establish the type of things they can help with and the likely timings that help might be available, matching locations of those offering helping hands with those needing extra assistance.
Dragons Deliver - a chance for supporters to show why family and community values are so important to all of the team’s supporters.
