Scarlets Match Information

Dragons take on Scarlets in the first Welsh derby of the season at Rodney Parade on Saturday evening (kick-off 5.15pm) as the Men of Gwent look to record a third successive home win against the west Wales outfit.

Dragons edged a thrilling encounter at Principality Stadium last time the two teams met in the Guinness PRO14 in a roller coaster of a contest, a late converted try completed a 34-32 victory to record a first win at Judgement Day and avenge defeat at Parc y Scarlets three months previous.

Dean Ryan and Brad Mooar respective new charges met for in pre-season back in the September, as Sam Davies made his first start at Rodney Parade claiming twelve points as the Dragons won 34-17

Did you know?

  • Scarlets have been victorious only once away from home in Guinness PRO14 since October 2018: 25-21 at Glasgow in October 2019.
  • Scarlets have won only one of their last six fixtures against fellow Welsh regions: 22-13 at home to Dragons in round 13 last season.
  • Dragons beat Scarlets 34-32 in their most recent encounter, at Judgement Day in April, but have not won successive league matches against the West Walians since 2008.
  • Scarlets have not won at Rodney Parade since 30 December 2011.

GUARD OF HONOUR (supported by Wilko: The home of family value)

We will be welcome youngsters, coaches and parents from Caerleon, Caldicot, Cwmbran rugby clubs for our Guard of honour. Give them a big cheer as they enter the field of play to welcome both teams onto the pitch.

CHARITY COLLECTION

The match day collection will be for Sparkle, the official charity of the Serennu Children's Centre in Newport, and Nevill Hall Children’s Centre in Abergavenny.

OPENING TIMES GATES & BARS

Pubic gates open at 3.45pm for the match, with Rodney's bar and the Premier Bar accessible from opening. Arriving early? Join us in the fanzone marquee from 2.30pm and hospitality from 3pm. Ground bars open from 4pm.

PRE MATCH ENTERTAINMENT

Newport City Radio are back for tomorrow night's game in the fanzone marquee and the Guinness PRO14 trophy will be at Rodney Parade so you can get your photo with it.

The running order is:
