Jack Dixon commits to Dragons until 2021

Jack Dixon has committed his future to the Dragons by signing a new three-year contract that will keep him at Rodney Parade until 2021.

The talented centre is the latest player to sign a long-term contract with the Welsh Region alongside Welsh International Leon Brown and Elliot Dee. 

The 22-year-old made his debut for the Dragons in 2011 as he came on as a replacement against Wasps in the Anglo-Welsh Cup, since then he has made 80 appearances for the Region.

Confirming the news, Jack Dixon said: “I re-signed with the Region as I feel there are exciting times ahead for the Dragons, with the WRU on board and a lot of new faces across the team, I see it as a fresh start. 

“I'm a local boy, who supported the Dragons growing up and I really want to see the Region doing well!”

He continued; “I think the future is bright for the Dragons, we have a lot of good, honest players in the team. Guided in the right direction I think we can really push on and be a threat in the Guinness PRO14 and other competitions. This year we are definitely going the right way.” 

Caerphilly born Dixon began his rugby in the Dragons Academy playing in the U16s and U18s age-grade competitions. During his time in the Academy he made his debut for the Dragons senior side and then moved onto earn Wales U20s honours. Following this he played for Principality Premiership side Bedwas before becoming a permanent fixture in the Dragons side.

Dragons Head Coach, Bernard Jackman added: “Jack is the latest promising local talent to commit his future to the Dragons, which is fantastic news.

“With him having ambitions with us and internationally we believe that he has a bright future ahead of him.

“I look forward to seeing him grow as a player."
