Since his Dragons debut against his old team Scarlets, 28-year-old Cudd has made over 100 appearances for the Men of Gwent. He is known for his robustness in the number seven shirt and is one of the most effective and respected breakdown operators in the Guinness PRO12.

After signing his contract, Nic Cudd commented: “I am delighted to have re-signed with the Dragons. There is a great group of players and coaches here and I really appreciate the fantastic support from the fans.

“I see a bright future for the Dragons with the number of talented youngsters coming through to play for the Region. I believe we are heading in the right direction and I look forward to playing a part in that. If I can help pass any experience I have had onto some of the younger guys in the back row I am more than happy to do so and in return they keep me on my toes!”

He continued: “I feel honoured to have played as many games as I have for the Region throughout the last five seasons and I look forward to what the next few years have to offer.”

Dragons Head Coach, Kingsley Jones added: Dragons Head Coach, Kingsley Jones added: “It’s great news for the coaches, players and supporters that Nic has committed to the Region. He has always been one of the most relentless and committed players in the squad who exudes humility and respect to all he associates with, hence it’s no wonder why he is a fan favourite and so well-respected by his peers and opposing teams.”

“He works hard each day to develop his game and is the perfect role model for any young player.”

Nic Cudd is the latest player to commit his future to the Welsh Region after it was announced recently that Hallam Amos, Ed Jackson, Rynard Landman and Brok Harris had all agreed new deals to stay with the Men of Gwent.
