Jon Pallett | 15/03/2016

Ashley made 129 appearances for the Men of Gwent between 2005 and 2015, retiring at the end of the 2014/15 season. Talking about his Ambassador role Ashley said:

“The Dragons Charity Bike Ride is going to be a fantastic event this summer and I am delighted to be able to offer my support. I am encouraging as many people as possible to take part and to raise as much money as possible for St David’s Hospice Care."

The Dragons Charity Bike Ride 2016 takes place on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th June. Riders start at Parc y Scarlets then head to Liberty Stadium and BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park before finishing at Rodney Parade. There will be an overnight stop off at Acorn Camping and Caravan Park situated mid-way between Swansea and Cardiff.

Ashley will be supporting the organisation of the ride, helping promote St David’s Hospice Care and encouraging people to join those riders already signed up to take part.

Ashley is currently on a beneficiary year along with fellow Dragons star Lewis Evans. The two are holding a number of events this year and have also joined up with St David’s Hospice Care as Charity Partner for the Beneficiary Year. Their next event is a European Rugby Challenge Cup Quarter-Final preview at Rodney Parade on the 7th April. To find out more please visit www.dragonsbeneficiary2016.co.uk
