Young gun Benjamin excited for derby clash

The Newport born flanker is due to take on the Ospreys his weekend in his first welsh derby of the season.

20-year-old Benjamin is joined in the match-day squad by fellow youngsters, Joe Davies, Ollie Griffiths, Elliot Dee and Ashton Hewitt, and is relishing the chance to get out onto the pitch and impress.

"Game time is massive and the more that I play the more confident I feel on the pitch, it gives you the chance to learn and improve your decision-making, which is massive for an openside.

"The choices that you make in a split second (at the breakdown) have an impact a couple of phases later on. It's all about the top two inches.

"There's really tough competition at seven so you have to try and make the most of every chance that you get."

The Dragons take on the Ospreys at the Brewery Field in Bridgend this evening and need to take away the win.

"It's an exciting game and derbies always have that extra spice.

"We need to improve on the Harlequins performance to hopefully get a win that would be the perfect launch pad into the league."
