Dragons squad to face Ospreys

Newport Gwent Dragons are due to play Ospreys Rugby at the Liberty Stadium on Friday night (KO 7.05pm).

The men of Gwent go into the match after playing against Bath Rugby in the Amlin Challenge Cup.

 
The regional side currently stand in sixth place in the RaboDirect Pro12 table and sit between Leinster and the Cardiff Blues. Currently standing in second place amongst the Welsh regions, in the RaboDirect Pro 12 league, the Dragons are looking to make this their first win away from home this season.

Both skipper Andrew Coombs and British and Irish Lion Toby Faletau are in the mix for selection against Ospreys. Young gun Sam Parry returns to full fitness this week and is also in the mix for selection purposes.

Rhys Thomas is progressing from his ankle injury as is Darren Waters with his knee, they are looking to be back in training fully around December. Ashley Smith is progressing very well and will continue to be assessed by the medical team. The Gwent born centre could be in the frame this week but will continue to be assessed on a daily basis ahead of Thursday’s team announcement.

Fly half Jason Tovey suffered a concussion against Bath and has not been included in the squad selection. Centres Pat Leach and Jack Dixon are also still out with injuries.
