Newport Gwent Dragons enjoyed an evening of celebration of this season and anticipation for the campaign to come last week.

Dragons wing Aled Brew picked up the Players’ Player of the Year award at the region’s end of season dinner last week. Adam Hughes was named as Young Player of the Year. Aled received an Omega watch courtesy of Lyndon Bigmore and Aurum Holdings LTD.

There were many awards given out with Wayne Evans, Ashley Smith, Aled Brew, Joe Bearman, Jason Tovey, Rhodri Gomer-Davies, Hugh Gustafson and Adam Jones receiving their caps for 50 starts (including appearances off the bench before half time)

Tom Willis was unable to attend as he was undergoing planned surgery on his knee so the Captain’s speech was made by Luke Charteris in his place. Charteris was also in receipt of an award as he and Steve Jones joined Jamie Ringer and Adam Black as the only players to receive caps for 100 starts for the region.
