SOWDEN-TAYLOR READY FOR BLUES CHALLENGE

Dragons back row Robin Sowden-Taylor is looking forward to returning to Cardiff on Saturday to face the Blues.

Dragons back row Robin Sowden-Taylor is looking forward to returning to Cardiff on Saturday to face the Blues.
“The 28 year old made the switch to join the Men of Gwent over the summer and having returned from injury looks to be in strong form.
“I’m definitely looking forward to going up against the Blues – just like the rest of the team. We have set ourselves the target this season of really competing with the better sides in Europe and as Challenge Cup Winners, the Blues would certainly fall into that category.
“Although we lost the pre-season friendly, we have moved on quite a bit from then. There were good and bad things about our performance that day and we have addressed the bad points and are building on the positive aspects. We bounced back after the disappointing result in Connacht and got a good result against Glasgow
“Obviously it’s a particular experience for me having spent nine years at the Blues but as far as I’m concerned, I’m a Dragon now and I’m looking to myself to the Dragons coaching staff and our supporters. I’m sure there’ll be plenty of banter on Saturday, but the rugby community in Wales is quite tight-knit so we all know each other really.
“I know what to expect from the Dragons fans. They are always very vocal and supportive. It’s obvious how much they are behind the boys to be honest, it’s nice to be on the right side of them!
“We’re probably underdogs going into the game but that suits us. The history of the region has certainly made the team very close to each other and to our supporters – it’s a great atmosphere to work in and everyone pulls together. The Dragons have done well out of people underestimating us but I believe that we are capable of being very competitive this season.
Dragons Head Coach Paul Turner has delayed announcing his squad for Saturday’s game pending injury reports and the disciplinary hearings to be held by the WRU this afternoon.
