The Dragons secured a famous victory over Heineken Cup semi finalists Munster last Friday night. The Dragons facing Munster for the fourth time this season, ran in three tries and maintained their unbeaten home record in 2006.

The fantastic win for the Men of Gwent boosts their hopes of qualifying for Europe next season. The win was set up by the forwards who were superb and coupled with some class acts behind the scrum The Dragons in the end could have scored five or even six tries.

The Dragons could not have gotten off to a worse start with Munster scoring a try with just 63 seconds on the clock with centre Trevor Halstead crossing. However, this spurred the home side into action with the forwards taking the game to the Munster pack and at times bullied them.

Skipper Jason Forster, who led by example, levelled the scores with a try before Nathan Brew also got on the try scoring sheet. At half time Gareth Wyatt scored a sensational try to put The Dragons in front at the interval.

In the second half prop Pucciaiello scored to tie the scores at 17-17; however, from then on it was all Dragons. Warlow added two penalties, before the Gwent Region played the territory game and kept Munster pinned in their own half.

In their last two home matches The Dragons have beaten the two Heineken Cup semi finalists, Leinster and Munster and now must look to add Connacht to their list of scalps next weekend.
