Gwent Dragons have confirmed that they have signed Scottish International Ross Beattie from Bristol Shoguns.
No.8 Ross has represented Scotland on 5 occasions, his most recent caps coming in the 2003 RBS 6 Nations Championship. The 25-year old is a big, athletic, ball carrying forward who before being at Bristol Shoguns was with the Newcastle Falcons.
“Ross is a very talented player who possesses all the skills needed to be a modern back row player,” commented a club spokesman. “He brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge and is a welcome addition to the squad.”
Born in Kent, Ross qualifies for Scotland as his parents are Scottish. He has been named in the preliminary World Cup squad for Scotland.
